Grey Trace, an average guy in a near-future world, is traveling with his wife when they are ambushed by muggers. Grey is paralyzed during the encounter, and his wife is murdered. The physical trauma he suffered has turned Grey into a quadriplegic. The investigator assigned to the case isn't making any progress, so Grey accepts the help of a billionaire with technology that will cure his paralysis. After receiving an implant called STEM, Grey sets out to get revenge with his newly augmented abilities.
