Hugh Jackman plays Barnum, whose story begins with a poor childhood and ends with him becoming a legend. Along the way, Barnum shows off freaks and misfits, ceaselessly promotes his endeavors, changes what people expect from entertainment, and grows incredibly wealthy. The cast includes Zac Efron, Zendaya, Michelle Williams, and Rebecca Ferguson. Jackman's performance is marvelous, but his co-stars more than hold their own, proving that modern musicals can still shine.
