Please note that USB 2.0 is only for power supply, not for data transmission through USB 2.0 port. The cable can connect a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive directly to the eSATA interface. The hard drive is powered by the computer's USB interface. First connect the SATA connector to the 2.5-inch SATA hard drive socket and the eSATA connector to the eSATA connector on the computer. Then connect the USB connector to the USB port on the computer.
